Mubasher: Qatar’s holdings of US government debt witnessed an 18.2% month-on-month growth in July.
Qatari long-term holdings amounted to $1.3 billion in July, up from $1.1 billion a month earlier, the US Treasury Department said on Wednesday.
Saudi holdings of US government bonds hit $166.8 billion by the end of July, while the UAE and Kuwait came in second and third, in terms of Arab countries, after raising their holdings to $59.7 billion and $42.9 billion, respectively.
Globally, China was the top holder of US Treasuries with $1.17 trillion, followed by Japan with $1.03 trillion.
